European Inclusion Summit 2020

During the German Presidency of the Council of the European Union, German Federal Commissioner for Matters relating to Persons with Disabilities Jürgen Dusel will host the European Inclusion Summit 2020. He invites all European commissioners and ombudspersons for people with disabilities to Berlin to exchange ideas and discuss the content of a strong future European Disability Strategy 2020-2030.

Day One of the summit – 17 November 2020 – will be open to the public. Due to the corona pandemic and the related uncertainty about the allowed number of participants at the event, it was decided to hold a virtual summit. Only commissioners, ombudspersons for persons with disabilities and some participants with an active role on stage will be at the venue physically. All other interested persons will have the opportunity to participate online. A livestream in German, English and French including sign language, written interpretation, audio description and German Easy Language will be available on this website.

During the virtual summit, which includes keynotes, panel discussions and interactive community calls, we will focus on the European Accessibility Act and topics like digitalisation and communication, protection against violence for women and children as well as inclusive development cooperation.

More information will follow in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned.
